Israeli Foreign Minister to Sign Cooperation Agreements in Historic Morocco Visit

Yaïr Lapid, the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, is expected in Morocco this Wednesday, August 11 for a two-day working visit. On the agenda of this visit, the signing of three cooperation agreements, and the inauguration of the Israeli diplomatic mission in Rabat.
Historic visit. Upon disembarking, the head of Israeli diplomacy will go to the Mohammed V Mausoleum where he will pay tribute to the tombs of the late Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II, reports the Emirati online newspaper Al Aïn Al Ikhbaria. The procession will then head to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rabat. On this occasion, Yaïr Lapid will meet with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita, and three cooperation agreements aimed at strengthening economic and political cooperation between the two countries will be signed.
Meetings between Israeli officials and Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Moroccan Minister of Tourism, as well as officials from the Ministry of Health will also take place. The aim will be to discuss ways to mitigate the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic. The official inauguration of the Israeli diplomatic mission in Rabat on Thursday, August 12 will be the highlight of this visit.
After Rabat, the delegation will travel to Casablanca for three major activities: a meeting with Moroccan economic operators, performing prayers in one of the city’s synagogues, then a press conference in a hotel.
