Israel-Morocco Direct Flights Rumor Debunked by Moroccan Officials

The information relayed by the Israeli press indicates the restoration of a historic direct flight between Israel and Morocco against the backdrop of the normalization of relations between the two countries. What is the reality?
On Saturday, the Israeli media The Jerusalem Post, N12 and Israel Hayom reported that Israel and Morocco would establish direct flights, which would mark a step in the normalization of relations between the two countries. But this information would be false. Proof, an authorized source at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs confided to Le360 that it is a pure rumor. The restoration of an air link between Morocco and Israel is not on the agenda of the kingdom.
US President Donald Trump announced on August 13 that the United Arab Emirates had signed an agreement to normalize its diplomatic relations with Israel. Just after this announcement, Jared Kushner, senior adviser and son-in-law of the US president, and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had separately undertaken a tour of the Arab countries with the aim of convincing other Arab countries to follow in the footsteps of the Emirates. To date, Morocco’s position remains unchanged. The kingdom says no to Israel and reiterates its constant support for Palestine.
