Israel and Morocco Explore Water Cooperation at Tel Aviv Diplomatic Salon

The Moroccan Liaison Office in Israel and the Center for Jewish Impact are organizing a Diplomatic Salon in Tel Aviv next Tuesday. The main theme of the event is "Water, a tool for regional cooperation between Morocco and Israel".
Its objective is to explore regional cooperation and identify opportunities to strengthen resilience through water management. Some 50 personalities from different sectors and backgrounds, including ambassadors, diplomats, academics and private sector leaders in Israel, Morocco and the MENA region will participate.
A roundtable is planned for this event, with a particular focus on sharing knowledge and best practices on water use and desalination technologies. The goal is to use these resources to strengthen trade ties and regional cooperation. Raphael Moog, head of the Water Technology Department at the Israeli Export Institute, will moderate this meeting.
The event will also feature several personalities, including Ambassador Yoram Morad, Special Envoy for Water Affairs at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Noam Weisbrod, Professor of Hydrology at the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research at Ben Gurion University, and Narjiss Lamarti Sefian, Director of the Moulouya Basin Water Agency.
In a statement to Map, Abderrahim Bayoudh, head of the Moroccan Liaison Office in Israel, noted the importance of the salon in a context where the region is facing severe drought and water scarcity, exacerbated by the challenges of climate change. He also emphasized the crucial role of Morocco, which has implemented effective policies to manage its water resources through an integrated approach and structuring projects.
Robert Singer, President of the Center for Jewish Impact, expressed the hope that this series of Diplomatic Salons would serve as a platform to stimulate inclusive discussions and strengthen regional resilience. The goal is to bring together government actors, diplomats, civil society and the private sector in a constructive and collaborative approach.
