Investigation Launched into Death of Moroccan Politician Abdelouahab Belfqih

The Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Guelmim announces that he has ordered the opening of an investigation following the death of Abdelouahab Belfqih, PAM elected official and former USFP elected official. The autopsy of the body will also be carried out.
The public prosecutor’s office received information from the competent judicial police services that the person named Abdelouaheb Belfquih, wounded by a gunshot at his home, was evacuated Tuesday morning by a civil protection ambulance to the Guelmim hospital, where he underwent a surgical operation before dying in the intensive care unit, according to a press release from the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Guelmim.
The initial elements of the investigation conducted by the judicial police elements at the deceased’s home, who discovered the hunting rifle used to fire this shot as well as traces of blood, favor the hypothesis of the suicide of the deceased by this rifle, which has been seized for expertise, specifies the same source.
For now, the judicial police are continuing their investigations.
