Intoxicated Man Dies in Police Custody in El Jadida, Morocco; Investigation Launched

A severely intoxicated individual dies in custody. An investigation has been opened to determine the reasons and causes that explain this death.
It was on Thursday, September 12 in the afternoon that the individual had been arrested at the El Jadida Provincial Hospital in a state of intoxication. The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), in a press release, indicates that he was placed in custody for the investigation.
Then, he suffered a malaise that required his transfer to the hospital around 10:25 p.m. But, unfortunately, he died in the intensive care unit around 1:10 a.m.
The Prefectural Judicial Police Service of El Jadida, according to the DGSN, has opened an investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the ins and outs of this case.
Pending the autopsy at the morgue where the body was transferred, the report of the on-duty doctor concludes that the cause of death was a heart attack.
