Interpol-Wanted Spanish Drug Trafficking Suspect Arrested in Morocco

A 47-year-old Spaniard was arrested on Saturday, July 21, at a police checkpoint set up at the entrance to the city of Tetouan, in the company of a young Moroccan. He would be involved in international drug trafficking cases.
During his arrest, the elements of the White Dove security force discovered that the Spanish judicial authorities had issued an international arrest warrant against the suspect. He was therefore actively wanted by Interpol.
Investigators then carried out a search of the suspect’s home in Tetouan. The harvest proved fruitful: more than two kilos of chira in the form of slabs and capsules were seized.
Pending his extradition to Spain, he was placed in pre-trial detention. The investigators, for their part, are continuing the investigations in order to determine the role of the young Moroccan in the drug trafficking cases.
