Interpol-Wanted French Drug Trafficking Suspect Arrested at Morocco-Spain Border

A French national was apprehended by the elements of the National Security, at the border post of Ceuta, on Friday, August 30, 2019. The individual, of Turkish origin, is the subject of an international arrest warrant from Interpol, issued by the French judicial authorities, for international drug trafficking.
According to the press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), this arrest is part of the strengthening of international cooperation mechanisms in the fight against cross-border crimes.
The Interpol database checks revealed that the arrested man has been wanted by the French justice system since July 29th for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking operations.
Pending the decision on his extradition to France, the 27-year-old individual was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation and the Public Prosecutor’s Office was informed.
