International Drug Ring Busted in Tangier: 11 Arrested, Including Foreign Nationals

The police arrested in Tangier, on Wednesday, 11 individuals, including two of Romanian nationality and one Albanian in an irregular situation in Morocco, for their alleged links with a criminal network active in international drug trafficking.
The suspects were arrested during an operation carried out in a residential villa, in a tourist resort, for their alleged involvement in the planning and preparation of international drug trafficking operations by sea, according to the press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The defendants were in possession of chira plates in the form of samples intended for potential clients of this international criminal activity, writes the DGSN.
The searches made it possible to seize five vehicles registered in Morocco, the regularity of which is being verified, as well as a batch of mobile phones and money in national currency and foreign exchange that may come from this criminal activity.
The accused were placed in custody for the needs of the investigation. Conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, it continues in order to determine the potential ramifications of this network and any accomplices involved in this activity at the local and international levels, the same source specifies.
