Inmate Found Dead in Moroccan Prison: Suicide Suspected in Tetouan Facility

New suicide in Moroccan prisons with the death of a man who decided to end his life in the local prison of Tetouan, in the north of the country.
In a statement, the management of the penitentiary institution explains that the victim committed suicide by "wrapping his shoelaces around his neck, before inserting them into the ventilation window of the cell where he was".
The body of the victim was discovered very early in the morning by one of the prisoners in the same cell, reports for its part the General Delegation of Penitentiary Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR).
As in such a situation, the family of the detainee was informed of the suicide, specifies the DGAPR according to which the victim was serving a 16-month prison sentence for drug trafficking and possession of an unregistered motorcycle.
An investigation has been opened by the authorities to determine the exact circumstances of this extreme gesture.
