Morocco Prison Authority Refutes Torture Claims, Cites Inmate’s Disciplinary Record

No prisoner has been the victim of torture in prison, the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) has just affirmed in a press release.
The DGAPR explains that the statements circulated by the former prisoner in a video posted on social networks are only allegations aimed at tarnishing the image of the establishment, recalling that the man was the subject of numerous disciplinary measures, due to his bad behavior transgressing the laws in force and his repeated attempts to incite mutiny and undermine the safety and security of the establishment.
The prisoner, according to the DGAPR, benefited from four medical examinations during his incarceration in the local prison of Ouarzazate and was transferred to the external hospital to undergo specialized medical examinations and receive appropriate care, each time it was necessary.
Accusing the prisoner of false allegations, the DGAPR states that he is treated in accordance with the legal provisions in force.
