Ikea to Create 500 Jobs at New Morocco Store Opening This Summer

The Swedish furniture giant Ikea has launched a recruitment campaign to fill more than 500 positions in its new store located on the Cabo Negro road, whose opening is scheduled for next summer.
The available jobs include direct positions and nearly 1,000 indirect positions, indicates a press release from the company, specifying that recruitment is being done at the level of local authorities, universities, schools, Anapec, etc.
The group also places parity, diversity and equal opportunities at the heart of its recruitment policy, and reserves 10% of the positions for recruits with specific needs. "The objective is to constitute a local team at 80%," says Chakir Berrada, director of the future Cabo Negro store.
In addition to offering new recruits a permanent contract, with a remuneration level higher than the market, Ikea stresses that the group offers benefits such as private medical coverage, a CIMR pension and transportation.
Ikea indicates that the Cabo Negro store is part of the group’s global expansion plan in Morocco, which began five years ago. A development plan that has enabled the launch, in addition to the large store in Zenata, of several pop-up stores, as well as the new store format at the Morocco Mall in Casablanca, and the e-commerce site.
