Iconic Marrakech Hotel La Mamounia Closes for Major Renovation

The doors of the Mamounia will remain closed from May 25 to September 1, 2020. The mythical palace will be undergoing renovations during this entire period.
It is with the Parisian firm of Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku that the teams of La Mamounia will collaborate for the work, which will initially concern the culinary spaces.
It will be for the two firms to create the magic between tradition and modernity. A more contemporary, more sophisticated conceptual redefinition, which will explore highly refined and surprising flavors in line with the recognized tradition of taste at the Mamounia, we are told.
The renovation work will then concern the rooms and other accommodation facilities. The goal is to recreate a Mamounia that celebrates authenticity, charm and renewal...
"This renovation will have the challenge of better anchoring La Mamounia in its time while keeping intact the charm and heritage of this house with 95 years of history," says Pierre Jochem, Managing Director of La Mamounia.
