High-Speed Chase in Rabat: Cocaine Dealer Flees Police, Gunshots Fired

A cocaine dealer put the security services of Rabat and Salé on alert last Sunday after, on board his 4x4, refusing a simple check. Gunshots were necessary in the operation that led to his arrest.
The cocaine dealer would have only attracted the attention of the law enforcement agents because he was consuming cocaine in the middle of the Hassan district of the capital Rabat. They approached him and asked him for his identity papers. That’s when he took off at full speed. One of the intervention brigade agents then fired at the tires of his vehicle to try to stop him.
Despite the inconvenience caused by the punctured tires, the drug dealer did not stop and continued to flee as best he could, aboard a vehicle with uncertain movements. Fearing that he might cause accidents, the mobile intervention service elements refrained from pursuing him directly.
He was arrested shortly after in Salé by a motorcycle brigade, specifically in Hay Tabriquet. 20 grams of cocaine were found on him.
The cocaine dealer will be prosecuted for a host of offenses, including insubordination, endangering the lives of others, as well as possession, consumption and trafficking of hard drugs.
