Heavyweight Titans Clash: Badr Hari vs McSweeney Set for Paris Showdown in GLORY 88 Qualifier

Combat sports fans around the world will have their eyes riveted on Paris, where the much-anticipated fight between Moroccan champion Badr Hari and British kickboxer James McSweeney will take place next week as part of GLORY 88 x LSFC 2.
Kickboxing legend Badr Hari (106-17-2, 92 KOs) and the very experienced James McSweeney (46-6, 28 KOs) will face off in the main event at the Dôme de Paris-Palais des Sports on September 9. Each of them will be seeking to qualify for the prestigious Glory Heavyweight Grand Prix, an eight-man tournament that will take place in December. The winner of this tournament will walk away with $500,000.

Badr Hari’s last fight was in October 2022. He had been defeated by Alistar Overeem, but the result of this fight was later canceled. Glory officials revealed that Overeem had tested positive for a banned substance. His challenger, James McSweeney, for his part, defeated the Muay Thai world and European champion, Buğra Erdoğan, last December. Who between Badr Hari, who is thirsty for victory, and McSweeney, who has fought around the world against the biggest names in combat sports, will emerge victorious?
