Granada Mourns 6-Year-Old Boy Killed in Apartment Fire; Mother Critically Injured

The city of Granada is still in shock after the tragic death of a 6-year-old Moroccan boy in a fire that also caused serious injuries to his mother, currently between life and death in a hospital.
A gas leak would be the cause of this fire that broke out in the third-floor apartment of the building located in the Chana neighborhood in Granada, where the 6-year-old boy and his 47-year-old mother lived. The news of the minor’s death has touched the inhabitants of the city. "He was the only child in the neighborhood... Always smiling," confides one of the neighbors to ABC. "I saw him every day," says another. Others, still in shock, can’t hold back their tears.
The boy’s family moved into this apartment, mainly intended for retirees and students, six years ago, when the mother was pregnant.
