German Tourist Attacked with Knife in Tangier; Suspect Arrested

An individual attacked a German woman with a bladed weapon in Tangier. The suspect has already been apprehended by the city’s security services.
The attacks perpetrated against tourists are taking on an alarming proportion in this important city in the North. Aged 29, the suspect is from Guelmim and was residing in Tangier, at his brother’s home, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect would suffer from "psychiatric disorders". According to the same source, "the searches carried out made it possible to seize the bladed weapon (a medium-sized knife) used in this crime, as well as the clothes worn by the defendant at the time of this criminal act".
Thereupon, the DGSN elements placed him in custody, at the disposal of the investigation. The same press release informs that this investigation is "conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office in order to elucidate the circumstances of this case and its true motives".
