German Man Sentenced to 3 Years for Fatal Pepper Spray Attack on Moroccan Neighbor

The district court of Cologne in Germany has sentenced a German national to 3 years in prison for the murder of his Moroccan neighbor using a pepper spray gun.
In March 2018, a dispute had broken out between the Moroccan and his German neighbor, who had tried to take photos of his house. By using his tear gas pistol, the latter had caused serious facial injuries to the 30-year-old man, who died a few days later in the hospital.
While ruling out a racist motive, the Court upheld the manslaughter thesis in the absence of any premeditation, specifying that the defendant was in a position of legitimate defense.
It should be recalled that the pepper spray gun, freely sold in stores and containing a tear gas canister, has a speed of 650 km per hour. The young Moroccan was hit in the eye.
