Galatasaray Suspends Training After Staff Member Tests Positive for Coronavirus

A member of the staff of the Turkish football club Galatasaray, in which the Moroccan Younès Belhanda plays, has tested positive for coronavirus. The announcement was made this Friday, upon receipt of the test results carried out on Thursday, thus forcing the club to suspend its training for the next six days.
The Turkish championship, which has been on hold for two months, should resume on June 12. But cases of contamination are somewhat dampening the resumption. On Thursday, Besiktas announced eight positive cases within the club, including the president, Ahmet Nur Cebi. Kasimpasa, another Süper Lig club, the first Turkish division, has also confirmed that two of its players tested positive.
Turkey is one of the countries hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, with nearly 4,000 deaths.
