Moroccan Midfielder Belhanda Set to Join Olympiacos After Galatasaray Exit

Moroccan international Younès Belhanda could become Youssef El Arabi’s teammate. The player is about to sign with Olympiacos after being fired by Galatasaray at the beginning of March.
At 31, Moroccan Younès Belhanda has been looking for a club to settle in since he was fired by Galatasaray for criticizing the club’s management. While he was announced in Spain and France, the midfielder could end up in the Greek Super League, in the ranks of Olympiacos where his compatriot Youssef El Arabi plays.
After leaving Galatasaray, many La Liga teams such as Sevilla, Valencia and Real Betis showed interest in Younes Belhanda. But he did not follow up on their requests. Belhanda was fired by the Istanbul club for having "undermined" the club, but also for having made insulting remarks. "The managers must find a solution. Even the pitch of our training camp is in better condition. Instead of being obsessed with Twitter and Instagram, or being interested in the media, take care of the field," he had declared on Turkish television.
