Galatasaray Considers Offloading Ziyech Weeks After Signing Moroccan Star
Just as he has definitively signed Hakim Ziyech during this summer transfer window, Galatasaray is considering parting ways with the Moroccan international.
According to the Turkish channel Trtsport, the Turkish club no longer wants Ziyech, just a few weeks after exercising the purchase option provided for in his loan contract and signing a one-year contract with the player. The Galatasaray management is seriously considering letting the Atlas Lion leave for several reasons.
Among other motives, the Turkish club wants to reduce the number of foreign players in the club to comply with local football federation regulations, the media reports. Galatasaray also hopes to make a financial profit from the sale of Ziyech, who is attracting the interest of several Saudi, Qatari and even American clubs, adds the same source.
The 31-year-old striker arrived at Galatasaray in August last year on loan from Chelsea with a purchase option. The Atlas Lion did not particularly shine at the start of the past season due to repeated injuries. But he managed to redeem himself in the second half of the season, helping his club win the Super Lig for the second consecutive time.
