Ziyech Shines in Galatasaray Friendly, Future with Turkish Club Uncertain

With a sparkling Hakim Ziyech, Galatasaray easily defeated FK AS Trencin (4-1) in pre-season. But the Moroccan international’s future at the Turkish club remains uncertain for the moment.
Hakim Ziyech once again proves that he deserves to be there next season. On Thursday, he scored the second goal of his club in the 22nd minute, thus widening the gap with the Slovaks. This friendly match played in pre-season resulted in Galatasaray’s victory (4-1). The next season will resume on August 3 with the Super Cup. The Turkish champion will face Besiktas.
Will Galatasaray keep Ziyech next season? Loaned last season by Chelsea as part of a deal worth 3.6 million euros ($3.86 million), he officially signed for one season, plus an option, at Galatasaray at the end of June. The Turkish club has exercised the purchase option that became free thanks to clauses fulfilled at the end of the year. But after this signing, rumors persist about the departure of the Atlas Lion. The reduction in the number of foreign players, one of the regulations of the local football federation, would force the club’s management to part with him.
The 32-year-old player scored eight goals and provided four assists in 23 matches this season.
