French Woman Arrested in Morocco’s Coastal Drug Bust: Cocaine Ring Uncovered in Essaouira

Several people involved in cocaine trafficking and consumption have fallen into the nets of the judicial police of Essaouira. Among them, many tourists and foreign residents who would be connected to a hard drug trafficking network.
7 people involved in this cocaine trafficking, including three foreigners, were taken into custody, reports the daily Al Akhbar, specifying that among the accused are a woman and three foreigners, including a French woman. It all started with the seizure of a small quantity of cocaine from consumers and from a foreign woman, at the head of a tourist unit who was supplying drugs to her clients, the same source indicates.
With the support of the cynological brigade (master-dog and canines), the elements of the judicial police carried out a raid in an apartment where one of the accused and his concubine were arrested. This accused is the accomplice of the main accused, from Rabat, who was himself arrested on a bus heading to Casablanca. He had traveled to Essaouira to deliver his accomplice, who was in charge of selling the cocaine in the city, and who is in contact with tourists and foreign residents in Essaouira, including a French tourist, the newspaper reports.
By decision of the public prosecutor, all these suspects are subject to further investigation, in order to dismantle the entire network, some of whose members would be drug barons who sell cocaine in Casablanca and Rabat, concludes the same source.
