French Tourists Lead Surge in Agadir Visits as Foreign Tourism Rebounds

The number of foreign tourists is once again on the rise in Agadir with a 3.11% increase in the number of overnight stays during the first two months of the year, according to the latest data just released by the Regional Tourism Council (CRT).
Thus, the number of overnight stays stood at 743,609 in January and February, compared to 721,199 during the same period in 2018, indicates the CRT which reports a substantial increase from the French market: (+10.71% and 191,105 overnight stays).
The tourists from the hexagon are followed by the Germans who totaled 140,789 overnight stays during the same period, down 6.32% during the first two months of the year. Then come the English with 119,544 overnight stays, up sharply by 27.61%.
For the period analyzed, domestic tourists take 4th place in terms of overnight stays with 89,316, up 14.18%.
As in previous analyzes, foreign and domestic tourists prefer tourist clubs, 4-star hotels, 5-star hotels and finally tourist residences.
As for the occupancy rate, it stood at 50.70%, while the average length of stay for tourists is 4.76 days, according to the Regional Tourism Council.
