French Tourists Lead Surge in Agadir Visitor Numbers, Outpacing Germans

French tourists were again last month, and by far, the first in terms of foreign arrivals in Agadir, according to figures released by the Regional Tourism Council of Agadir Souss-Massa.
There were some 20,124 of them who had stayed in the capital of Souss last March, compared to 16,493 in March of last year, an increase of more than 22%, according to these same figures. They outpaced the Germans who were 12,936 to have visited Agadir, compared to 10,284 during the same period last year, up 25.79%.
But the city of Agadir must above all thank the local tourists who were 26,447 to have gone there in March, an increase of 22.52% compared to the same period last year.
As in the previous reports, it appears that tourists, whether Moroccan or foreign, have a preference for 4-star hotels (28,077), then 5-star hotels and tourist clubs with 19,631 and 19,245 arrivals respectively.
Furthermore, the Regional Tourism Council of Agadir is also pleased with an increase in the number of overnight stays, which have gone from 4.42 to 4.53 overnight stays.
