French Tourists Lead Marrakech Visitor Numbers Despite Slight Decline

Whether in terms of arrivals or even overnight stays in classified Tourist Accommodation Establishments (EHTC) in Marrakech, the French are at the top as of the end of last August.
According to data from the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Marrakech, there were 354,333 French tourists who visited the ochre city, a decrease of 2% compared to the previous year when there were 361,238.
British tourists come after the French in terms of arrivals with 137,745, followed by the Spanish with 75,640 and the Germans with 74,140. According to the MAP, the number of tourist arrivals from the Dutch market recorded the strongest increase at 33%.
And, in terms of overnight stays during the period from January to August, the French, unsurprisingly, are also at the top with 1,481,277, followed by the British with 623,560, the Germans who were 235,210 and the Spanish who numbered 207,442.
The Dutch market, on the other hand, recorded the strongest increase in overnight stays at 25%, followed by the Italian market at 23%.
The occupancy rate in August last year was 74%, an increase compared to the same period the previous year, which was 70%, while the average length of stay was 4 nights last year.
