French Tourist Stabbed in Morocco: Suspect with Mental Health Issues Arrested

An investigation has been opened by the Taroudant judicial police brigade following the knife attack, on Monday, on a French tourist.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that the suspect, who shows signs of mental disorders, attacked the victim, a 66-year-old French national, with a kitchen knife for no logical or apparent reason.
At the time of the attack, which took place as the victim was walking early Monday morning near a caravan parking lot, the defendant was uttering incomprehensible words.
Furthermore, the investigations show that the suspect has already been admitted to a psychiatric hospital on two occasions.
For the needs of the investigation, the defendant was placed in custody while the victim, stabbed in the hand and neck, was taken to the hospital to receive the necessary care. According to the latest news, her condition remains stable and does not give cause for concern.
