French Tourist Robbed of €5,000 Near Marrakech’s Jamaâ El Fna Square

Another case of pickpocketing occurred near Jamaâ El Fna Square, in Marrakech. A French tourist was the victim of a snatch theft on Saturday, October 12, while walking in the old medina.
According to the daily Al Massae, a pickpocket in his twenties managed to snatch the handbag of a tourist, containing a latest generation mobile phone and nearly 5,000 euros in cash.
The aggressor, who quickly managed to make his way through the crowd, was arrested a few hours later by the auxiliary forces, following the complaint filed by the victim.
Taken to the judicial police department, the individual was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation opened under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
