French Tourist Assaulted in Tiznit, Morocco; Homeless Man Arrested
A young homeless man was arrested on Friday after assaulting a French tourist in Tiznit. The victim, who suffered bruises on her foot and knee after being hit by a stone thrown by the aggressor, nevertheless refused to file a complaint against him.
According to information gathered by Alyaoum24, the assault took place on Friday evening. The French tourist was walking in the city when she was suddenly accosted by the young man. The latter, in a state of drunkenness and under the influence of drugs, threw a stone at her before fleeing.
Alerted by passers-by, the police quickly arrived on the scene and managed to apprehend the aggressor. About twenty years old, the young man is already known to the police for his drug and alcohol use, as well as for his aggressive behavior towards passers-by. Homeless and estranged from his family, he has been living on the streets for several years.
Despite the minor injuries she suffered, the French tourist decided not to file a complaint against her aggressor. She explained to the police that she had been touched by his state of distress and hoped that he would receive the help he needs.
