Knife Attack in Casablanca Leaves 1 Dead, 8 Injured; Suspect Shot by Police

The events took place in the early afternoon. The 29-year-old suspect attacked nine people for no apparent reason. One of the people, seriously injured, died from his injuries.

Faced with the threat and to protect the passers-by, a police officer had no choice but to use his service weapon. The shot, fired at the legs of the madman, made it possible to subdue him and put an end to his murderous madness.

An investigation has been opened by the competent prosecutor’s office to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy and the motivations of the aggressor. The suspect is currently in custody.
