Tourist Seriously Injured in Violent Robbery Attempt in Marrakech’s Old City

A foreign tourist in his fifties was the victim of a violent robbery in the Sidi Abdelaziz neighborhood of the old city of Marrakech, according to local sources.
According to these sources cited by Rue20, the tourist was walking with his wife when he was accosted by two individuals on a motorcycle. The thieves tried to snatch his bag, but the tourist resisted. A struggle ensued, and the tourist was dragged a short distance by the criminals.
The fall caused the tourist a serious injury to the face and scratches on other parts of the body. His wife, a witness to the scene, screamed in terror. Alerted by the cries, passers-by intervened, forcing the thieves to flee.
The injured tourist was rushed to a private clinic to receive the necessary care. His state of health has not been communicated.
