Belgian Tourist Escapes Sexual Assault in Morocco; Suspect Arrested

A tragedy was narrowly averted in Bayenti, in the province of Al Hoceima, in the northern Rif mountains of Morocco. While a Belgian tourist was walking her dog, a 20-year-old man began harassing her. He then physically assaulted her and tried to rape her. An attempted rape that outraged the population of Arbaa Taourirt, known for its safety.

After the incident, the victim went to the police to report the facts and file a complaint. The police arrested a 20-year-old man from the neighborhood. He will later be incarcerated.
