Beach Paradise Shattered: Tourist Guide Arrested in Agadir Assault Case

In less than 24 hours, the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie arrested an individual suspected of having assaulted a British tourist in the tourist area of Taghazout, on the outskirts of Agadir.
The assault would have been committed last Tuesday. A British tourist met a man who introduced himself as a tourist guide. He was riding a horse near the beach. After a short conversation, he offered to accompany her to a picturesque place not far from the tourist area of Taghazout, near Agadir. But he would have lured the British tourist to an isolated place before sexually assaulting her. After committing this act, he would have fled on his horse.
Back at the hotel, the victim informed her companions and alerted the management of the tourist establishment, where a complaint was filed. Based on the limited information provided by the tourist, the Royal Gendarmerie services began actively searching for the alleged rapist. A large-scale combing operation, including the hearing of witnesses and the questioning of horse owners present along the coast, made it possible to identify the suspect. He will be arrested and then checked. The investigators discover that he had a criminal record in similar cases.
While scratches observed on his face reinforce the suspicions, the suspect denied the facts he is accused of. He was confronted with the victim in the presence of the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Agadir. The tourist confirmed that he was indeed the aggressor who had surprised her on the night of the incident. He will therefore be placed in custody.
