Agadir: a young British tourist found dead in the pool of a hotel
A young British tourist has been found dead in a prestigious hotel complex in the city of Agadir, Morocco. The body was discovered floating in the pool of the establishment.
The victim, a man in his twenties, was staying in the seaside resort, which is very popular with foreign visitors at this time of year. It was customers and hotel staff who spotted the lifeless body in the water and immediately raised the alarm.
The police services went to the scene. An urgent investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the death and to establish whether any suspicious elements are at the origin of the tragedy.
The young man’s body has been transferred to the Hassan II regional hospital for an autopsy. The local authorities are closely following the case and the British consulate in Morocco is awaiting further information from the investigators.
