French Tourist Arrested in Marrakech for Drunk Driving and Attempted Bribery

The Marrakech police services have indicted a French national of Algerian origin. He is accused of having driven under the influence of alcohol and of having tried to bribe police officers.
According to the facts, a police patrol intercepted the defendant who was driving a rental car while intoxicated. He also committed a traffic violation (illegal parking).
Immediately afterwards, the suspect tried to bribe the police officers to avoid being fined, reports Barlamane. But he was met with their categorical refusal. Hence his arrest.
For now, the defendant has been taken into custody, the same source said.
