French National Arrested at Morocco-Spain Border with 343 kg of Hashish

An operation, jointly carried out by the national security and customs, made it possible to seize a cargo of 343 kilograms of chira. It was on Monday afternoon, at the Bab Sebta crossing point, that these security forces thus thwarted the drug trafficking attempt. It involves a French national.
According to the press release published by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), it emerges that it was a border control operation using police dogs that made it possible to seize this drug cargo. It was meticulously hidden in specially arranged cavities in the body of a car, registered abroad and about to head towards Spain. The driver, according to the same source, is a 47-year-old French national of Moroccan origin, who was also arrested.
The person concerned was placed in police custody, at the disposal of the judicial investigation conducted by the prefectural judicial police service of Tetouan, in order to determine all the ramifications of this criminal activity, both nationally and internationally, added the DGSN.
This operation is part of an overall and integrated action plan, aimed at tightening control mechanisms, in order to ensure smooth passage to both destinations, as well as thwarting attempts to traffic illicit products, in this case any type of drug, the statement concluded.
