French Muslim Council Announces Eid al-Adha Date for 2023
The date of the Eid al-Adha festival in France is now known. It has just been announced by the Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF).
"Given the most accurate scientific data, with regard to the month of Dhul-Hijjah: The conjunction (new moon) will take place, insha’Allah, on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 4:37 GMT (6:37: Paris time). The new crescent moon will be visible, insha’Allah, on the same day at 6:36 PM GMT (8:36 PM: Paris time)," the organization states in a press release.
"Given these elements, the first day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah will be, insha’Allah, on: Monday, June 19, 2023 (The Day of Arafat: Tuesday, June 27, 2023). The Feast of Sacrifice: Wednesday, June 28, 2023," it is specified.
