French-Moroccan Duo Arrested in Marrakech After Viral Assault Video

In Marrakech, two men were arrested after the circulation of a video showing an assault in the middle of the street. The suspects, of French nationality and Moroccan origin, have been placed in custody. An investigation is underway to determine all responsibilities.
Two French nationals of Moroccan origin were apprehended by the judicial police of Marrakech. The two MREs are formally identified as the alleged perpetrators of acts of violence committed against a third party in a public space, a procedure initiated following the circulation of a video of the incident.
These arrests follow a video recording circulated on social media. It showed two men beating an individual in the middle of the street.
Upon being notified, the police prefecture of Marrakech decided to open an investigation to shed light on the facts. The investigations led to the identification, location, and then arrest of the two suspects.
Placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, the two MREs are being interrogated. The investigation continues under the aegis of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) to determine if other responsibilities or other people are involved in this case.
