French Tourists Arrested in Marrakech After Fleeing Motorcycle Accident

Serious traffic offenses observed on a central thoroughfare in Marrakech led to the arrest of two French nationals of Maghrebi origin by services under the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The arrest took place on Tuesday. The two men apprehended are aged 28 and 36. While riding a motorized two-wheeler, they were involved in a collision on the public road, reports Barlamane. Despite the presence of law enforcement officers, the driver allegedly did not stop after the accident. Amateur recordings circulated on social media show the criminal behavior of the two individuals. The police also seized the vehicle.
Following the arrest of the two men, criminal proceedings overseen by the competent prosecutor’s office have been initiated. Several charges are being brought against them: driving under the influence of alcohol, deliberate endangerment of others, refusal to stop at the request of law enforcement, and fleeing after a traffic incident. While awaiting the establishment of precise responsibilities, analysis of technical elements from the videos, and determination of the real intentions of the protagonists, the two suspects have been placed in police custody.
