French Drug Kingpin Nabbed in Marrakech: Interpol Red Notice Leads to High-Profile Arrest

Wanted by France, a man was arrested by the Moroccan police. An extradition procedure has been initiated.
A 44-year-old French national, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by France, was arrested by the police in Marrakech. According to a security source, he is suspected of belonging to a criminal network involved in large-scale drug trafficking.
The arrest took place following a control operation. Consulting the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that the man was wanted under a red notice. The accused was subjected to the measures provided for by the extradition procedure before being presented to the competent prosecutor’s office. Parallel to this procedure, the French security authorities were informed of this arrest.
This arrest is part, it is said, of the efforts made by the Moroccan services to apprehend on their territory individuals who are the subject of international searches related to cross-border crime.
