French Consul General in Tangier Found Dead in Apparent Suicide, Investigation Underway

The French Consul General in Tangier, Denis François, is said to have committed suicide on Thursday in his bedroom. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of his death.
The brand new consul, appointed by decree to this position since September 15, took his own life by hanging.
For the moment, the causes of this tragedy are still unknown pending the results of the investigation entrusted to the Moroccan police. As for his remains, they were evacuated in the early afternoon to the Duc de Tovar hospital for the purposes of an autopsy. The successor to Thierry Vallal took up his post in October.
