Moroccan Consul General Visits Grand Est, Discusses Youth Integration Initiatives

Moroccan Consul General Driss El Kaissi, on a tour of the Grand Est, was received at the town hall of Longlaville by Mayor Hamdi Toudma. Among the topics discussed by the two officials were the implementation of artistic and cultural activities to promote the integration of young Moroccans living in Longlaville.
Driss El Kaissi, during the exchanges, expressed his willingness to undertake projects aimed at youth. The Grand Est region has around 143,000 Moroccan immigrants registered at the consulate in Strasbourg. For the Consul General, the sectors of culture, business, sports, and youth have significant potential that needs to be exploited for successful mixing and integration, reports Le Républicain Lorrain.
The consul also stressed the sustainability of twinning and associations, which should not be carried by a single person but supported by associations and cities for better relaying. He stressed that there needs to be perfect collaboration with grassroots actors and cultural and artistic animators to successfully carry out enterprises aimed at young people.
As an example, he cites the achievements in painting, mosaic and masonry of young budding artists, most of them from the Moroccan community, specifies the same source.
