Interpol Fugitive from France Arrested in Marrakech

The arrest of the Frenchman took place on Monday, February 24. He was apprehended in possession of a driver’s license, a passport and several documents issued abroad, suspected of being forgeries, as well as four mobile phones and a laptop that could contain traces of his criminal activities, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release. The Moroccan police seized these documents and equipment.

The 36-year-old suspect is suspected of being involved in cases related to drug trafficking, kidnapping and attempted homicide. He was wanted by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) at the request of the French judicial authorities.

After his arrest, the Frenchman was placed in custody. Morocco will inform the French authorities of his arrest, with a view to his possible extradition.
