French Fugitive Wanted for Violent Crimes Arrested in Marrakech

A 28-year-old Franco-Algerian national was arrested in Marrakech on Friday, March 21 by the police. The individual, in an irregular situation in Morocco, was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French justice system.
His apprehension occurred while he was driving a vehicle in a dangerous manner in the city center, endangering public safety. Furthermore, he refused to comply with the orders of the agents and attempted to conceal his true identity.
The consultation of the Interpol database revealed that the suspect was wanted for his alleged involvement in several crimes committed in France. The charges include: destruction of property by an organized gang, kidnapping, sequestration, arbitrary detention of a hostage, death threats and violence.
The accused was taken into custody. The Moroccan authorities have informed their French counterparts of this arrest, in accordance with the extradition procedure in force.
