Foul Odors and Mosquitoes Plague Tangier Suburb, Residents Demand Action

The residents of the commune of Gueznaia, near Tangier, have been invaded in recent days by bad smells and mosquitoes. They call on the competent authorities to take appropriate measures to preserve their health.
In a video posted on Facebook, an Internet user denounced the situation, pointing the finger at a bridge near the Gueznaia industrial zone which, according to him, represents a danger for his daughter who passes through this area every day to go to school. The father said he had contacted the municipal authorities several times, to no avail.
The Moroccan government had nevertheless allocated a budget of 650 million dirhams to the commune of Gueznaia as part of the integrated program for the qualification and development of the region (2021-2022). Funds that were supposed to be used to define the foundations of a balanced, fair and sustainable economic development of the commune, with the participation of all stakeholders.
