Five Arrested in Morocco-Algeria Cross-Border Drug Trafficking Bust

Three Moroccans and two Algerians were apprehended for their alleged involvement in a criminal network active in international drug trafficking.

The simultaneous operations, carried out in the cities of Oujda, Ahfir, Ain Beni Mathar and Beni Adrar by elements of the prefectural judicial police service of Oujda, in collaboration with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), led to the arrest of the three Moroccans, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).

In addition to the Moroccans, two other Algerian accomplices were also apprehended.

As for the searches carried out as part of this case, they led to the seizure of 334 kilograms of cannabis resin in the form of 12 packages, 6 vehicles and a sum of money that would be the proceeds of international drug trafficking.

For the needs of the investigation, the accused were placed in custody.
