Fishing Boat Sinks Off Moroccan Coast: 2 Dead, 3 Missing, 11 Rescued

A small fishing trawler, with 16 crew members on board, sank off Tan Tan, in southern Morocco. The mobilization is total and the search continues to find the missing crew members.
In total, 11 sailors were rescued, 02 died and 03 are missing after the sinking of a fishing trawler. The search continues to find the missing crew members.
The Department of Maritime Fisheries has launched a large-scale rescue operation, in collaboration with the Royal Navy and the Royal Gendarmerie within the framework of the coordination within the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC), indicates the Ministry of Agriculture in a statement quoted by the MAP.
The same media specifies that two vessels operating in the fishing area recovered on Friday the bodies of two sailors registered on the list of the crew of the shipwrecked vessel. To find the rest of the missing crew, aerial search means are mobilized to support the operation as soon as visibility conditions allow.
Furthermore, the verification operations carried out by the department’s services indicate the effective presence of 11 crew members on board the vessel, in addition to a member who remained unreachable and whose effective presence is being verified.
