Search Underway for 11 Missing Sailors After Ship Collision Off Moroccan Coast

Following a collision between a Panamanian cargo ship and a trawler, 11 sailors are reported missing in Dakhla, in southern Morocco.
A foreign cargo ship named "Monte Laura" collided with the trawler "Al Akhawayn" during the night from Thursday to Friday, off the Atlantic coast, reports the MAP.
According to the local authorities of the wilaya of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, the incident occurred about 60 km west of the port city of Dakhla.
In total, 5 sailors were on board the trawler. They were rescued. Likewise, all necessary means have been mobilized to search for 11 others reported missing, according to the same sources. However, no information has been released about their nationality.
The foreign cargo ship comes from Panama and should reach Libreville, according to Marine traffic.
