Ferry Collision Near Tanger Med Port Leaves Two Missing, Sparks Rescue Operation

The port authority of Tanger-Med announced that in the early hours of this Friday, a collision occurred between a speedboat and a ship of a company. Result: significant damage and two crew members missing.
It was a speedboat belonging to the Svitzer company operating at the port of Tanger Med that collided with the ferry Kattegat of the shipping company FRS Iberia, 1 kilometer from the port.
Following the collision, the speedboat capsized, causing water leakage inside and the loss of two crew members, adds the same source.
"Immediately after the accident, all the rescue means belonging to the port of Tanger-Med and the Royal Navy were mobilized and directed to the scene of the accident," the statement said, stressing that "the search is still ongoing in the presence of the competent authorities in order to find two missing crew members."
