Tanger Med Port Enhances Facilities for Summer Influx of Moroccan Expatriates

Tanger Med Port has made special arrangements to ensure good organization of the Marhaba 2022 operation, which is scheduled to start on June 15.
In a statement to the MAP, the Deputy Director General of the Tanger Med Port Authority, Hassan Abkari, indicated that a special system has been put in place, in coordination with the Spanish side, to ensure fluidity and health safety, through the strengthening of reception, comfort and control capacities.
"The two parties are called upon to strengthen the capacities of maritime lines and the management of flows on roads and in ports, while taking into account the health context and the public health of citizens, which remains a priority," he stressed.
The official said that Tanger Med Port has made the necessary improvements to the reception system, noting that an envelope of 150 million dirhams has been mobilized to prepare the transit operation, in order to ensure fluidity and health safety, through the strengthening of reception, comfort and control capacities.
This involves increasing the number of check-in counters at the maritime station from 10 to 16, deploying 32 counters for passengers with vehicles, creating new shaded areas, strengthening lighting and setting up dedicated areas for children and green spaces.
It is also planned to set up a dedicated area for health control at the borders, to put in place other necessary service structures, as well as the installation of drinking water fountains, restaurants, information points and sanitary facilities, to ensure the success of the Marhaba 2022 operation, he stressed.
