Fez Introduces SMS-Based Parking Payment System in October

Starting in October, parking fees will be paid by SMS. According to the SDL, the organization in charge of parking management in Fez, the project will be operational with interactive terminals.
It is a prepaid service managed by SMS and by an application. It will allow users to buy tickets online and find the parking space that suits them. Only parking attendants who have signed contracts with the municipality will be authorized to do so.
Motorists will be able to regularize their situation by paying 2 DH for each hour of delay within a maximum of 48 hours. Beyond the allotted time, the penalty amount will be multiplied by 50.
To carry out this project, the SDL plans to build a two-story parking lot with a capacity of 500 spaces, underground on the Florence Square. The cost of the project is 74 million DH, and the SDL plans an annual royalty of 8 million that could vary as the spaces are used and the areas exploited.
